Sharna & Greg – Jamaican Wedding Photographer

Sharna & Greg’s Jamaican Wedding

From the moment I first met Sharna & Greg, I knew this Jamaican wedding would be special. The couple were so passionate about their big day and had picked two wonderful venues. Being a Birmingham wedding photographer, I love shooting weddings all over the West Midlands. This was to be my first Jamaican wedding and my first time at their venue. I embrace the challenge of a new location and really enjoyed learning about the Jamaican culture. The food was especially good, I really do think a trip to Jamaica is on the horizon!

In my Birmingham wedding photography business, I pride myself on service. If I haven’t worked the venue before, I will always do that in advance so I’am familiar with it on your special day. The importance of your day doesn’t go unnoticed to me, I will go above and beyond to make sure you get beautiful images.

How The Day Began At The Edgbaston Palace Hotel

So the big day was finally here and I had arrived early. In my Birmingham wedding photography business this is paramount. I love to have full creative freedom to capture the scene and all the magical moments that follow. There is nothing worse than being rushed on your special day.

When I was first walked into Sharna’s bridal suite I was greeted with a bubbly atmosphere. Everyone was having a great time and literally couldn’t wait for her to say I do. When I arrive at a wedding I’am always looking for beautiful light, I was not disappointed. It really is a bonus when the makeup artist already has the bride in the perfect place. As a Jamaican wedding photographer it is my job to make sure I get the most out of every situation. My goal is deliver consistently stunning images.

Sharna now turned to her gifts from Greg and this truly was a lovely scene to witness. This is one of those times on a wedding when emotions are running very high. For me this is what wedding photography Birmingham is all about, capturing raw emotion.

How The Ceremony Unfolded & Some Special Moments

So with getting ready finished it was time for me to head over to the ceremony. This was my first Jamaican wedding ceremony and was in for a treat. I just loved it from start to finish, the energy was amazing! This was the first time I had seen Greg on the day, so it was time to start taking some images of him awaiting his bride.

The ceremony itself was wonderful and I feel very honoured I was able to be a part of it. Capturing Sharna & Greg’s Birmingham wedding photography really was a joy. They really didn’t stop smiling and I was seeing moments every few seconds. I really do think their feelings for one another are reflected by the photographs. For me as Birmingham wedding photographer I thrive in this type of situation and I come alive. Sharna & Greg’s Jamaican wedding is one I shall never forget!

How The Rest Of The Day Unfolded At Sharna & Greg’s Jamaican Wedding

With the ceremony concluded it was time to get everyone together for a party! I must admit this was a great experience to photograph. With nearly all the wedding guests joining in on the speeches it really did make for some compelling photographs. As I mentioned before as a Birmingham wedding photographer this is what I buzz off. I love giving my clients some wonderfully candid moments. Being predominantly a documentary style wedding photographer, I do gravitate towards that way of shooting. With that being I will alway pose my clients on at least two sessions during the wedding. I think it’s just as important to create those beautiful portraits 🙂

A final highlight for me was the gorgeous food I was given on the evening! I’d heard about Jamaican chicken but never been fortunate enough to try it properly. This is certainly one of the perks of being a wedding photographer from Birmingham. I get to eat amazing food, while getting to do what I love, what could be better right?
