Lyde Court | Wedding Photographer – Ben & Natalie

Ben & Natalies Wedding Photography

When Ben & Natalie booked me to be their wedding photographer I was over the moon when I heard where I would be shooting. They had chosen the stunning Lyde Court in Herefordshire to tie the knot. Having visited the area a few times myself I knew about Lyde Court but never dreamt I’d get the chance to do wedding photography there.

I’ve known Ben for many years through the music industry, as we both used to be heavily involved around the Midlands area. When Ben asked me to be his wedding photographer I was very humbled. I knew straight away this would be a fantastic wedding as he has a great sense of humour.

Being A Wedding Photographer At Lyde Court

Living in the Birmingham area I set off nice and early on the day of the wedding to arrive with plenty of time to spare. Upon arriving I was so impressed with the rural setting and breath taking views Lyde Court had to offer. Being a few hours early I had a good look around the whole venue. Making sure that I got the detail and landscape shots.

Now it was time to find Natalie and her bridal party. The atmosphere in the room was electric everyone was in such high sprits. My job as a wedding photographer is so rewarding when I can capture all this raw emotion. Lyle Court really provided us with the perfect setting. Just as the girls were starting to get ready the clouds cleared and we were treated to a beautifully sunny morning. The lighting was so perfect for wedding photography and I enjoyed creating some lovely memories for their album.

A Wedding Ceremony With Flash Gordon!

Reading this title you must be slightly confused? Well it’s true Ben decided to walk down the isle to the ‘Flash Gordon’ theme track. It was quite a surreal experience and one I don’t expect to forget in a hurry. I loved how relaxed this wedding was, even the vows weren’t traditional and the registrar was also a magician. Of all the wedding photography I have done, this was by far the most quirky and fun to date. Being a wedding photographer that day at Lyde Court was a very memorable experience, one I will always treasure.

How The Rest Of The Day Unfolded

So with the vows exchanged something then proceeded to happen which shocked us all. The registrar/magician  suddenly made confetti appear from thin air which was a magical sight! Please excuse the pun there but it really was. I was almost caught off guard for a moment but then quickly pressed the shutter button to make sure I had the moment. Sometimes your clients can be so inviting that you feel you’re a part of the wedding. After that split second I remembered I was there as a wedding photographer.

Now it was time for drinks and for the guest to relax. I found a beautiful spot for the family formal photographs, Lyde Court once again delivering. In wedding photography you don’t always get lush green pastures for backgrounds so that is always very welcome.

Now I took a few minutes alone with the newly weds. Ben & Natalie were a pleasure to work with for the portraits as I could just feel their connection. I really do think it shows on the images below.

A Big Thank You For Having Me As Your Wedding Photographer

I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank Ben & Natalie for choosing me as their wedding photographer. It was an amazing day at Lyde Court and an absolute pleasure to document your wedding. I wish you both all the best and a long happy life together.
