A DAY TO REMEMBER AT COOMBE LODGE, BLAGDON.

Coombe Lodge in Blagdon certainly holds a special place in my heart. It truly is a gorgeous venue! I was first lucky enough to work here back in 2016 and I’ve been back four times since! It’s hidden away in the Somerset countryside, boasting truly spectacular views! When Jenni & Jason first got in touch, I was so excited to be back at this stunning venue! If you’re looking on here and see that I am based in the Midlands, please don’t think I’m too far away! I live for travelling and photographing gorgeous venues all over the country & world for that matter! 

All I do is travel down the night before and book a hotel. That way I’m well rested and ready to capture moments on the morning of your big day!

BRIDAL PREP!

I arrived nice and early and started by capturing the scene and all the details ahead of Jenni’s arrival. Not long after she arrived with all her bridesmaids & family. The atmosphere was brilliant and a standout moment for me was a photo book Jason had put together for Jenni! All the girls sat on the sofa and looked through it with a glass of bubbly and had a great time! It’s moments like that which are just priceless and I love to focus on.

THE CEREMONY AT COOMBE LODGE

Coombe Lodge offers indoor & outdoor space for the ceremony depending on the weather. Luckily for us, it was a scorching hot day and all the festivities went ahead outdoors! The ceremony takes place in the picturesque gardens at the back of the venue which look just incredible! Jenni & Jason were just so effortless to photograph, they really were great in front of the camera even when being photographed candidly. They exchanged some lovely vows & it was full of emotion, exactly what I like to see from a ceremony!

THE CELEBRATIONS

So now it was time to get the day going, relax and enjoy time with friends & family. As always Jenni & Jason took half an hour with their friends and family to really immerse themselves in the celebrations. However, I couldn’t leave them for too long as Jenni had some amazing ideas for the photos she wanted of her & Jason. 

I always send my couples a blank Pinterest board to fill in ahead of the big day. This really helps me to get a feel for the style of photos you both love. I was blown away by the amount of input and great ideas Jenni had so we left shortly after the group photos to get some fab couples photos! 

Honestly, this wedding had it all, we even got a sunset right at the very end of the day, which I know they were so happy about! I think another standout moment for me was the outdoor first dance, which I just loved! This was at a time when dancing hadn’t been happening for over a year, so felt even more special! I really did feel privileged to witness people seeing their families again, for the first time in over a year for some. That’s something I will never forget between the 2021 and 2022 wedding seasons.
